It almost seems impossible that it is almost December - just a few days away. Autumn here in Kansas was a bit strange. October was so cold but then November was much nicer. The last couple of days here were beautiful with temperatures above normal in the 60's. I think today is probably more normal with highs forecasted to be in the 40's. Featured in Colored Stone Magazine

Several months ago I was contacted by Colored Stone Magazine. They invited me to submit an article on feldspar and amazonite as well as images of jewelry from my website, StormRising Designs, that were made from feldspar and amazonite. The other day I received a copy of the magazine with my article and pictures of my jewelry. It was a great feeling to see my beautiful handcrafted artisan jewelry in a national magazine. Bracelet sale

I've got all my bracelets on sale at my online store, StormRising Designs, through July 9. For some reason I haven't been making much jewelry lately. I think the distraction of having a new grandchild probably has something to do with it. Or perhaps it is the lack of sales in the store since we got into this depression. Talk about depressed! I like to have extra money around and that's what my handcrafted jewelry store brought me for years. It's just hard knowing that I still have to pay for the online service that allows me to have the store but not have money coming in to pay for it. I'm sure a lot of people are experiencing this both online and out there in the land of "brick and mortar" businesses. I want to hold on long enough to get some holiday gift business at the end of the year.

I've got some designs on my board which should be made and into my store soon so keep tuned!

How about a new handcrafted bracelet to celebrate the change in seasons? I am having a sale at StormRising Designs right now through March 13 - 20% off all bracelets! Here's a pretty new one in spring colors. It's called "Primavera". I even made the chain that the crystals and glass leaves are attached to. There was a lot of twisting going on!

New handcrafted jewelry

Although I'm busy making custom jewelry for people for the holidays I put a few more new pieces on my web site. I had fun making a "shaggy" bracelet the other night. I actually made the chain base myself from 18 ga. brass colored Artistic Wire. Then I used 22 ga. brass colored Artistic wire to fasten clear iridescent and amber colored Czech glass beads to the bracelet - over 60 beads! I mixed in a few clear glass leaf beads and some fire opal colored Swarovski crystal bicone beads. It's warm and sparkly! This piece (and other pieces) is for sale on my website, StormRising Designs. Holiday Shopping

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the US. I have a lot to be thankful for this year. It's been a great year for me as I am in good health and lots of good things have happened. Tomorrow I will join with other members of my family for a wonderful gathering with good food and lots of company.
